~ Bobby Joe Ebola/Harbinger Tour 1998 ~
We tour a lot. Back in the day we used to do it a bunch and to this day we continue to hit the road often in search of like minded weirdos to sing to and hang out with. In 1998, our pal and trusty ‘back-up singer’ John Geek picked up the bass for the first time in a band and joined up with East Bay punk heroes and friends Aaron Cometbus on drums and Robert Eggplant on guitar to form Harbinger, a band comprised mostly of songs Robert had written while traveling in Thailand. Go here to download the songs from the tape they made for this tour, ‘Eartraining For Corporates’: http://regionrockandmore.blogspot.com/2009/02/harbinger-eartraining-for-corporates.html
John was always booking shows for Bobby Joe Ebola back in the day and being that we lived together, singing while we would create. He could hit, and still does hit notes our low and rumbly asses could never. So when Harbinger decided to tour, Johnny asked if the MacNuggits could jump on… and we did just that, touring all over the US for about a month. Here are some photos and flyers from that tour. Clayton McBride was our trusty roadie/driver. The Hotsy was his vehicle.
Tour motto: “O, ye of little faith… shut the fuck up.”
